What is SOM1X® and what makes it different?

SOM1X® is a proprietary barrier-repair complex developed exclusively by Dr Munir Somji and the Dr MediSpa clinical team. It works at the level of the skin's protective barrier — reinforcing its structure, reducing transepidermal moisture loss and supporting the skin's ability to regulate itself. What makes it particularly effective is its relationship with Encapsulated Retinol: by strengthening the barrier first, SOM1X® creates the environment for retinol to work at clinically active concentrations even on sensitive skin.

Can I use this if I have sensitive or reactive skin?

Yes. The Signature Serum is dermatologically tested and formulated to be suitable for sensitive skin. The encapsulated retinol in the formula is time-released to minimise irritation. If you have a significantly compromised barrier, consider using the Exosome Barrier Repair Serum first to build tolerance before introducing the Signature Serum.

When do I apply the Signature Serum in my routine?

Apply the Signature Serum as the second step, after your Concentrate (if using one) and before your SPF moisturiser in the morning, or Night Recovery Cream in the evening. It is designed to be layered over any of the four Concentrates — Anti-Wrinkle, Anti-Blemish, Anti-Redness, or Anti-Dark Spot.

Can I use the Signature Serum morning and evening?

Yes. It is formulated for twice-daily use. In the morning, follow with the Vitamin C Daily Defence SPF30. In the evening, follow with the Night Recovery Cream.

How long until I see visible results?

95% of trial participants reported soothed skin and 90% reported improved hydration within the 4-week trial period. Most users notice improved radiance and skin texture within 2–3 weeks. For firmness and barrier improvements, 4–8 weeks of consistent daily use is recommended.

Is this suitable for use during pregnancy?

The formula contains Encapsulated Retinol. We recommend consulting your GP or dermatologist before using retinol-containing products during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
