Dr Somji developed his proprietary ingredient blend, SOM1X® , after early retinol formulations delivered results but left his skin looking red and irritated. The goal was to create a retinol system that supports skin tolerance while maintaining efficacy.
Visible redness can be triggered by a compromised skin barrier, environmental stressors and overactive skin responses. At Dr Somji, we formulate with sensitive and redness-prone skin in mind, combining clinically backed actives with barrier-supportive ingredients to help calm, strengthen and restore balance. SOM1X®
The idea for SOM1X® came from a problem.
While developing the first Signature Serum prototype, Dr Somji woke up with red, irritated skin. Rather than reducing the retinol, he developed a proprietary barrier-support complex that would allow the active to perform without compromising skin comfort.
The result is SOM1X®: a unique blend of Centella, Marine Probiotics, Ceramides, MSM, Blackcurrant Seed Oil and Milk Thistle Extract that strengthens the skin barrier, reduces moisture loss and helps sensitive skin tolerate clinically active retinol.
